2013 Worst Day of the Year Ride
When you live in a place that offers so much lush green-ness, you live with the winter rain that makes it possible. And if you ride here, you ride in it. But in Portland’s bike-crazy culture, you also celebrate it!
The Worst Day of the Year Ride is Portland’s annual you-can’t-stop-us celebration of year-round riding. The Feb. 10 event will draw 4,000 riders who show up in costume (there are prizes!) or not, enjoy belly-nourishing warm treats along the way, and ride 18 (or 40) miles with wide smiles no matter what the weather. (A little secret: It’s hardly ever really rained on this ride in its 11 years so far.)
Best of all, it’s a fundraiser for the Community Cycling Center, a nonprofit dedicated to broadening access to bicycling and its benefits through hands-on programs, volunteer projects and a neighborhood bike shop.
Registration ends at 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 8. Check out our events calendar for more info and a sign-up link!
