Don’t have plans for Spring Break yet? The National MS Society, Oregon Chapter is celebrating MS Awareness Week with a fun ride to kick-start training for their Bike MS: Explore Oregon event (July 31 – August 1). They will lead a 12-mile ride around the beautiful Portland waterfront area. Now is a great time to ride along the waterfront as the trees are in bloom and birds are landing on the river. You can enjoy food, drinks and live music by Brent DeBoer (aka Fathead) of the Dandy Warhols at the finish line. The ride will start at 4 pm at the Green Drop Garage in Southeast Portland (1417 SE 9th Avenue, across from the Lucky Lab Brewery).

Participants in the fun ride also have an exclusive opportunity to take advantage of free registration for the 2010 Bike MS: Explore Oregon event. Bike MS participants will pedal and raise funds to support vital programs and services for over 7,000 people affected by MS, and their families, in Oregon and SW Washington. The two-day ride is fully supported with catered meals, rest stops and camping areas. This year’s ride features a brand-new route down the Historic Columbia River Highway – past the Vista House and Multnomah Falls. This is one ride you’ll definitely want to mark on your summer calendar.
