Biking About Architecture: Beaumont (Portland)
February 27, 2016 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

Back to Beaumont for Biking About Architecture’s first ride of 2016: hidden gems in home design in Beaumont and Roseway, with a Bucky Fuller geodesic dome home, a quasi-castle (with gargoyles!), an Atomic Ranch, a Modern Industrialist, two Italianate manses, a tarpaper moderne, cool Cully co-housing, an angled black-box modern, and an Art Haus deluxe!
Meet up Saturday February 27 at 11 AM at Grand Central Bakery (4440 NE Fremont–outdoor dining area), then we’ll roll out at 11:30 AM for a slow leisurely cruise (6 miles) along the Alameda Ridge. We’ll check out these and so much more! As always, more fun than edification. We’ll end with beer and nosh at FOTM or Alameda Brewhouse (bring dinero!). See you there!
