Circle the Sisters Tour

We start our tour with a ride up the Row River Trail, a rails-to-trails route that follows the shore of Dorena Reservoir and passes several covered bridges. After climbing up Brice Creek Canyon the next morning, you will be rewarded with a great downhill ride past Hills Creek Lake on our way to Oakridge, the Mountain Biking Capital of Oregon. We camp that evening outside of Oakridge on the Middle Fork of the Willamette River.

We spend most of the next day riding the Aufderheide Scenic Byway, a ride that is rated as one of Oregon’s 10 best bike rides (two of them in one ride, pretty good, huh?). You will again be rewarded for your morning’s climb with a downhill ride on what has been called “the magic carpet ride” as the Aufderheide passes through majestic stands of timber on its way down past Cougar Reservoir.

For some, our layover day at Belknap Hot Springs means lounging in the hot springs and letting the mineral waters do their magic. Others will opt for some whitewater with a rafting trip down the upper McKenzie River with High Country Adventures.

Our ride through the alpine lakes will be the highlight of the ride. Expansive views, beautiful alpine lakes, and gentle rolling hills are the calling for the day. This day is all about taking pictures and enjoying the ride! We finish up our circle around the Sisters at Crescent Lake.

This tour starts at Dorena Lake just outside of Cottage Grove. Over the next eight days we will ride in a great big circle around the Three Sisters and end up at Crescent Lake. The group will meet in Portland, and all transportation to the start and from the finish is included.
