Bend & Oakridge Tour (Bend) – Cog Wild
June 27 - 30, 2016
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

RIDE THE HIGH DESERT AND THE LUSH FOREST IN ONE TOUR
Bend or Oakridge? You’ve probably heard of both in your mountain biking circles. Why not ride it all in one tour? A mere 2 hours apart, the difference in terrain and trails makes this a really fun tour. You get to experience the outdoor recreation mecca of Bend, and the quiet timber-turned-mountain-biking-town of Oakridge.
Bend-area trails might have invented the word “flow.” They are fast, swoopy and built for mountain biking, Bend’s most favorite pastime. The Bend-area trails range from high alpine meadows to high desert juniper and pine trees, giving you a sampling of varied ecology and scenery. Downtown Bend is full of excellent restaurants, pubs, bars and shops, a great place to chill out after riding all day.
Oakridge is a former timber town nestled in a deep valley, surrounded by steep, tree-covered mountains. With trail section names like “Jedi Forest,” “Chrome Toilet” and “Windy Pass,” Oakridge trails are epic, heart-pounding, incredibly scenic and satisfying. Riding through Oakridge’s deep forests and steep terrain will remind you of childhood stories of prehistoric lands and mythical creatures. At the end of the day, we’ll check in to the Oakridge Lodge, within walking distance of the local pub. Bottoms up!
