McKenzie & Oakridge Tour (Bend) – Cog Wild
September 19 - 22, 2016
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

FAMOUS SINGLETRACK AND FRIENDLY LODGES
Not everyone knows that Oakridge is just a hop, skip and jump (on a sweet and scenic backcountry highway) away from the McKenzie River. So we’ve decided to combine the two into a lovely four-day hotel tour. You get four days of prime mountain biking, and a hot shower, comfy bed and squishy pillow to rest and recharge each night.
The McKenzie River area is full of lush old-growth forests, moss-covered ground, and rugged lava outcroppings surrounding the crystal-clear waters of the McKenzie River, and in the middle of it all are thin, perfect ribbons of singletrack. We’ll stay at the friendly Horse Creek Lodge, where you can try your hand at the pump track, built by local pro-rider Kirt Voreis.
Oakridge is a former timber town nestled in a deep valley, surrounded by steep, tree covered mountains. With trail sections names like “Jedi Forest,” “Chrome Toilet” and “Windy Pass,” Oakridge trails are epic, heart-pounding, incredibly scenic and satisfying. Riding through Oakridge’s deep forests and steep terrain will remind you of childhood stories of prehistoric lands and mythical creatures. At the end of the day, we’ll check in to the Oakridge Lodge, within walking distance of the local pub. Bottoms up!
