Cranksgiving 2016 in Portland, Oregon! (Portland)
November 19, 2016 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

*FOURTH FREAKING YEAR!*
If you’re up for it, donate to the prize wheel! Could be good stuff, like “5 chocolate bars,” or a cool experience, like “Guest host the Sprocket Podcast.” There will be a special prize for the person who donates the best prize – but this is OPTIONAL, we already have tons of good prizes.
Cranksgiving is a treasure hunt food drive – teams of 2-5 riders visit a list of stores and buy a list of items. All items benefit homeless youth services at Outside In.
You don’t have to race to have an amazing time – everyone sets their own pace.
It is imperative that we bring out more people than Seattle this year, and keep the coveted Top Banana Trophy that we currently possess.
Prizes for Best Team Costume, First Team Back, Biggest Spender Team, and more, and a special prize to someone special for Best Donated Prize…and then we’ll randomly give away all prizes that remain.
Start and end: Velo Cult – 1969 NE 42nd Ave.
Teams of 2-5 riders — if you arrive solo, we’ll find you a team!
1pm: Chocolate bar giveaway, register your team
2pm: Ride start time (arrive much earlier, see above)
4pm: Everyone back at Velo Cult, pizza $2/slice
4:30pm: Prizes awarded
Cost: Each person on your team will need $10 to buy stuff with – bring extra cash if possible – we’re trying to beat the $1800 we donated in 2014 – and you may just win the Biggest Spenders prize.
Bring: A lock and a bag and a camera.
