The first annual FAT55 mountain bike race will be September 18, 2010, in Oakridge. The 55-mile race, featuring 8,000 feet of climbing, is a great introduction to the world-class Oakridge trails network and an ideal training race for longer events like the Cream Puff 100. Designed by veteran mountain bike racers Norm Coyer and Eugene Cathcart, the FAT55 is a “green” event that promises great food, drink, entertainment, spectator participation and bragging rights. The race will benefit the Greater Oakridge Area Trail Stewards and the Oakridge Youth Bike and Unicycle Fund.
