Fionn Ride (Portland)
August 17, 2016 at 5:30 pm
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

The ride will start with a pre-Celtic New Year’s Ceremony. The salmon walk happens during salmon spawning and celebrates this. Then we will travel to three places. The first place you will meet your spirit animals. The second place you will have your future told via tarot, runes or medicine drum. The third spot you’ll join with your spirit family based on your animal spirits and discuss life.
In the legends of Fionn, the salmon lives in a fathomless well of wisdom where it swirls up ripples of knowledge from which the righteous may drink. There are hazel trees surrounding that well, and the savvy salmon would eat the hazelnuts that dropped into the well. So what does that mean to you? Dive deep within your own inner well and swirl around in the inherent depth of wisdom that is at your core. Furthermore, the salmon asks you to eat of the fruit of fine wisdom.
This event is very structured, and I prefer no alcohol till after. Ride is going to be over 20 miles, and I plan. I used a lot of resources.
It’s a Sturgeon Moon this evening. It’s full. The following full moon ride is Harvest Moon Ride.
