Hidden Gems Of The Springwater Ride (Portland)
December 5, 2015 at 12:00 pm
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

This ride follows the Springwater Corridor multi use path visiting things just off the trail people may be unaware of like a secret waterfall and some ponds popular with waterfowl. Sites include Johnson Creek City Park, Oregon Pacific vintage railroad yard, Luther Road Restoration Area, Beggars Tick Wildlife Refuge, and the Foster Floodplain Natural Area. The 14-mile loop ride goes out as far as Leach Botanical Gardens, and our visit corresponds with their annual holiday bazaar featuring freshly made wreaths, swags, centerpieces, cut greens, baked goods & an Artist Market featuring work by local glass, ceramic, metal and fabric artists. There will also be a stop at the Franz Bakery Outlet (fruit cake, etc.), and the Belmont Goats in Lents.
