Stay Safe

In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

Where: Meet at the Swampy Lakes Sno-Park (map). You will need a NW Forest or Senior Pass for parking. If anyone wants to carpool to Swampy, please contact Carol.

Ride Details: This is a more wilderness ride which mostly follows the winter ski trail. It is a good trail to ride with a few hop off’s for rocks and stream crossings. I will ride it slow but you can go fast as you like and we will all regroup at trail junctions. The ride is mostly in the woods so it is cooler on these hot days, and there are great views at the Swede shelter.

You can see details of the ride here: This ride is 8.5 miles with an elevation gain of 788 feet, which comes in a couple of concentrated sections which are short and very walkable.

Bring food, water and some kind of navigational aid. Could be old school map/compass or high tech GPS or MT bike App.

This is a solid intermediate ride. Riders should be comfortable changing from easy to moderate technical terrain and short steep uphill climbs and downhill descents with minor obstacles.

Bella rides are ‘no-drop’ rides and we are committed to helping one another improve our riding skills. In consideration of other riders, however, we do ask that you choose an ability level that is close to your skills. No one will get left behind unless they choose to cut a ride short, want to go faster than the group or take a different route. All riders have an obligation to the ride coordinator to let her know if they are leaving the ride. Remember that when you leave the group, you are on your own.

For more information: Contact Carol Terzi at or (541) 389-6059.

***Be sure to bring your signed waivers if you are not a Bella’s member. Non-members are welcome on their first ride without a membership but must sign this waiver and give it to the ride leader before the ride. Please note that this privilege may only be used once – you must become a member before attending your second Bella ride. You can download a waiver here. BBC Membership Waiver 2017
