Kidical Mass PDX Camping Trip 2017 (Buxton)
July 15 - 16, 2017 at 10:00 am
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. In July, Kidical Mass PDX will be going bike camping! We will be returning to Stub Stewart State Park for an overnight July 15th-16th. The route is a lovely 22 mile ride on quiet country roads and the Banks Vernonia Trail.
For this trip, we’ve rented a van to drive cargo bikes out to the end of the Blue Line – to avoid the long trip out to HIllsboro. This is generally a kids as passengers ride, although older kids have historically done the ride without problem.
Plan to meet at the Goose Hollow Max stop Saturday morning at 10. We’ll load up cargo bikes into the truck, and then catch the train. The truck will meet us at the end of the Blue Line, and we’ll ride 22 miles from there. We’ll stop in Banks for lunch and groceries.
