Stay Safe

In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

Ride Description:

Groups: Faster Riders (A Group) and Newer Riders (B Group)

-New(er) Riders – Those Who Want To Learn The Basics or Ride Casually
This ride will be customized based on the riders who show up. There are several routes that will accommodate all beginner rider abilities. This is not a Hammerfest ride. These rides are inclusive and fun for those just starting out riding on the roads, learning to use clipless pedals, etc. Our pace will be adjusted to our group, anywhere from a 10 to 14 mph pace. We will adjust our total miles based on the group’s ability level.

-Faster Riders – Plan for ride routes between 30-45 miles. The pace generally hovers in the 14-18mph range — faster than a recreational cruise, but almost always a conversational pace. Pace slows for climbs and windy condition. Be prepared for hilly and flat riding.

Distance: Varies by group – 15 miles to 35 miles

Ride Time: We aim to be back to Hutch’s Bicycles between 12:30pm and 1:00pm for the faster riders and around 11:00am for the new rider group, depending on the distance of the route. There is no guarantee about return time as these is a no-drop rides, and the group will stop to fix-flats, take bathroom breaks and regroup at major turns (as needed).

What to bring:
Spare tube
Flat repair tools and lever
CO2 cartridge or air pump
Snacks
FUN Attitude
