In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

Take Highway 58 East from the I-5 Junction. At approximately mile 24, turn right on to Forest Service Road 5840 (Patterson Mountain Road). Travel 0.3 miles on FS 5840, to intersection of FS 531. You are done! Volunteers will direct you to sign in and shuttle vans.
Event parking will be located along the right side of Forest Service Road 5840. There are also several spurs along the road to park on.

This two-day event will showcase the incredible new section of trail that is being developed along the Lawler trail. Several years in the making, the “Lawler Extension” was created to remove a dangerous two-mile stretch of gravel road and connect the entire length of the trail. Your donation will help the Disciples of Dirt Mountain Bike Club continue to improve this trail, and develop and maintain other trails along the Highway 58 corridor. The event will feature a Friday build day, where you’ll get the chance to invest some of your own “sweat equity” into the trail and get a sense of what it took to build.
Day two (Saturday) will be full of shuttle-assisted rides to enjoy, with demo bikes available from Pivot Cycles, and complimented with food and beverages from a variety of local vendors.
Space is limited, so registration is required.
