Loop Tour 2016 II (La Grande)
July 23 - 31, 2016
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

The Loop Tour (www.looptour.org) is an annual 9-day cycling & camping tour sponsored by the Mid-Valley Bicycle Club. The first Loop Tour was held in 1976 (history.looptour.org), and it has taken place nearly every year since.
Loop Tour is run TWICE each summer; typically the first one ends on the last Sunday in June and the second one ends on the first Sunday in August, but schedules can vary. Most loop tours are limited to no more than about 50 riders, and have 2 SAG vehicles. Riders may choose to either carry their gear or have it sagged. The route is typically a 400-500 mile loop somewhere in Oregon, but again, route distance can vary.
Sign up online early! The Loop Tour is open to current MVBC members only, and participation is limited. There is no mail-in registration option. If you are not already an MVBC member, it is easy to become one. Please go to join.mvbc.com. Everyone is welcome.
The Loop Tour starting point and route varies each year. Details are provided with the Loop Tour packet supplied to all participants. This year the Loop Tour starts and finishes in La Grande, OR. Check out the 2016 Loop Tour Announcement, for a taste of what’s to come.
