Stay Safe

In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

Campout and Trail Work Weekend on the Middle Fork Trail

Please join GOATS, DOD and the USFS for a weekend of trail work, camping and fun on the beautiful and rugged MFT. Along with the O’Leary work weekend, the MFT campout is a work party not to miss! Come out for the weekend or just come up for the day and work. If you plan to camp the folks from GOATS will feed you and treat you right. Beer, wine, soda, campfires and hilarity will abound throughout the weekend.

Please RSVP on the GOATS facebook event page so that Ben can get a headcount for food:

SCHEDULE
Friday: Start time is 10:00 AM. Lunch and dinner provided for trail workers.

Saturday and Sunday: Start time is 8:00 AM for campers and 10:00 AM for non-campers. Breakfast (7:00), lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast (7:00) and lunch on Sunday will be provided for workers.

Don’t forget to bring your camp chair, insect repellant, sunscreen and water bottle. Bring your bike if you want to get in an evening ride—the last couple of years we have had shuttles on Moon Point. The camp will be monitored during the day but please bring a lock to secure your bike.

GOATS will provide tools, hardhats and instruction.

On all work days you must wear a hardhat or a bike helmet, eye protection, gloves, sturdy shoes and long pants.
