Monster Cookie Metric Century Ride

In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

Starts and ends at the State Capitol Mall in Salem, OR
The Monster Cookie Metric Century Bicycle Ride is the Salem Bicycle Club’s premier spring event. The Monster Cookie is considered the 3rd best bicycle ride in Oregon. This will be the 41st year of the Monster Cookie. The ride starts at the State Capitol Mall in Salem and takes riders over back roads to Champoeg State Park and back to Salem. The ride is open to bicyclists of all levels who agree to Share the Road with other users by riding safely, lawfully, and courteously. Each participant must wear a helmet that meets CPSC requirements.
The route is generally flat with a few short hills. The map of the route offers a preview of the ride. GPS users can download a track of the route. Snacks, all the cookies you want, fruit, refreshments, and toilet facilities are available at a rest stop and at Champoeg State Park. The route closes at 4:00 p.m. Participants should pace themselves so that they can complete the ride by that time.
