NWTA – Growlers Mega-Build (Castle Rock)
November 21, 2015 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

The annual Growlers Gulch Mega-Build is on for Saturday, November 21st. Recruitment begins now.
Barring a typhoon or an ice storm, this is not a weather-dependent event. As I’ve said before – you’re mountain bikers, not delicate hot-house flowers. Drag out your trail-building gear and get ready.
Last year, we had 130 volunteers for our build day. It will be tough to match that number, but you never know. Just a heads-up that we need about a dozen weedeaters, so if you can bring one please let me know ASAP.
If you know anything about us, you are aware that we will do everything possible to make this day worth your while. Any time we have a chance to get 400 to 600 man/woman hours focused on trail work, we take full advantage of it.
We took a few hits this year at Growlers with the right-of-way logging and will take even bigger hits in 2016. We can either feel sorry for ourselves or we can get off our asses and make the most of things.
Primary goals include the construction of two new lines and the reopening of Legacy. There will be plenty of additional jobs as well.
It’s possible there may be a party after the build.
