Pedal Away Polio

Pedal Away Polio is a fundraiser sponsored by the Greater Albany Rotary Club to raise money for Rotary International’s Polio Plus campaign to eradicate polio throughout the world. There are currently four countries remaining with new polio cases: Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Nigeria. This is the second year for this ride, with distances of 2, 7, 12, 26 and 52 miles available. Riders are asked to solicit donations from sponsors to support their ride and the Polio Plus campaign. Registration and sponsor forms are available on the GreaterAlbanyRotary.org website under Special Events.

The available rides of 2, 7, 12, 26 and 52 miles are geared toward making it a pleasureable event for all ages and riding abilities. Riders will be served a spaghetti lunch upon completion of their rides. SAG stops with snacks and drinks will be available for the 26- and 52-mile rides. The 52-mile ride takes the rider through two of Linn County’s historic covered bridges. Combination of urban and beautiful rural country side with rolling hills and farmlands.
