Progressive Tuesday 11 (Alfalfa) – Central Oregon Wheelers
July 11, 2017 at 11:00 am
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

The eleventh in a series of longer rides with the intent of increasing rider endurance. Rides are every Tuesday and ride length will generally increase by about 5 to 10 miles a week.
This week’s ride is a 40 to 45 mile loop that starts Pine Nursery Park and heads east on Alfalfa Market Road to South Reservoir Road. The route affords us the opportunity to increase the distance based on rider’s interest.
The objective of the Progressive Tuesdays rides is to prepare riders for the longer rides like those associated with the Tour the De Chutes or the Firecracker 100. Rides will take place in the Tumalo, China Hat road, Sunriver/La Pine areas, and if interest supports, scenic bike rides like the Crooked River canyon or Sisters to Smith Rocks rides. These rides are a great way to increase endurance, learn about new ride routes, and enjoy the scenic beauty of rural of Oregon
