PWTC Ascension Series 2: Six Pack And One For The Boy (Portland)

In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

Mt. Tabor is always inviting early in the day. Our first dance will be from the south on 72nd, with a second soiree from the west. Finding our way to Flavel, we’ll ascend Mt. Scott, decend to the north, then give it a second go from the east. We’ll acquire the I-205 path and trek to the scenic views that Rocky Butte yields. Up the west face and then the back, we will have completed our six-pack. But all tired boys and girls have to get home, so we will head back up and over Mt. Tabor one more time, to find Hawthorne Blvd. Meet at Waffle Window, 3610 SE Hawthorne (covered area behind Bread and Ink) at 9:00. Distance about 30 miles with 3,000 feet of elevation gain.
