Strawberry Century (Lebanon)
June 11, 2016
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

The Santiam Spokes Bicycle Club is excited to bring you the 24th annual Strawberry Century in Lebanon. Bring your friends and make some new ones while climbing over rolling to moderately hilly landscapes through charming historic towns, and take in the scenic views of the Cascades Mountain Range pedaling alongside the swift Calapooia and Santiam rivers.
This year brings some changes to the routes that you’ve come to know and love, but still promises to serve you with 13, 50, 70, or 100 miles of little-traveled, breathtaking back roads. We are now offering the option of 500 extra feet of vertical climb up and over Mark’s Ridge for our 70 and 100 mile riders who are looking to test their legs. A rest stop will be available at the top of the climb at Mark’s Ridge Winery for riders to take in panoramic views of the Willamette Valley and catch their breath. For those not looking to grit their teeth and feel their calf muscles tremble, we will have flaggers available to direct you in the right direction for an equal serving of miles and smiles, with a smaller dose of climbing.
There will be two fully supported SAG stops with lunch provided to riders in the 50, 70, or 100 mile categories, and all of our participants finish their ride with our famous strawberry shortcake dessert at the end! Several other aid stations with bananas, cookies, and water are along the routes also. Combine all this with the warm, friendly, and helpful group of volunteers who serve you food, and help out in an emergency, and the Strawberry Century is one ride you don’t want to miss. Join us on June 11, 2016 for a day of fun, fitness, and friends!!!
All routes begin and end at 1700 S 5th Street, Lebanon, OR 97355 (Lebanon High School). Restrooms and water are available at the school. Showers are available upon request; bring your own towel.
