Weekly Tuesday Powell Butte MTB Ride (Portland)

This ride happens weekly, except when it conflicts with general meetings or weather.

Trails are closed when muddy. Rule of thumb: If it’s rained hard within the last few days, or has rained consistently without a sun break before the scheduled ride, the ride is cancelled. Please log in and sign up at the NW Trail Alliance website if you plan to attend.

This will be a somewhat unorganized ride – just meet up in the temporary Powell Butte parking lot at the end of SE Holgate (just east of 136th Street) before 6 p.m., as we are pedaling out of the gate at 6.

We will climb up the Old Holgate Trail and from there go at our own pace throughout the trail system. I’ll do my best to provide some maps, but be aware that we likely will not all stick together, but instead split into various groups depending on the number and fitness level.

Ultimately, the intent is to go ride the Powell Butte Trails at your own pace, have some fun, get exercise, and make a presence of responsible mountain biking on “The Butte.”

Helmets are required. We practice responsible MTB stewardship and yield to horses and hikers.
