Directions

In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.

Trailhead: Leave a shuttle car in Bend and then drive 20 miles west of Bend on the Cascade Lakes Highway to Dutchman Sno-park (25 minutes from Bend) or hook up with a local shuttle company like Cog Wild (541-385-7002) or bribe a friend to drive you.

Highlights: A great way to see most of what the Bend area has to offer. Several options are available, with up to 1,500 feet of climbing and as much as 4,000 feet of descending. Use either the Flagline/Swampy/Phil’s trail systems or the Metolius/Windigo/Mrazek/Shevlin systems to do this ride.

Seasons: Mid-summer through early fall

A detailed map of this route and others nearby is available through Adventure Maps, an Oregon company, at local bike shops and outdoor retailers, as well as online at www.adventuremaps.net.
