In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. This is the best beginner ride in the area – don’t forget the visit the fish hatchery!

A beautiful ride up the river to the Salmon Creek Falls. This flat trail runs right through town and includes a variety of local points of interest along the ride, including the fish hatchery and numerous swimming holes. There are no hills or obstacles, making it a perfect trail for new riders, but it’s gorgeous, and has enough challenging off-shoots to make it also great for extremely experienced riders. A straight round-trip is about 12 miles. For a harder option you can cross Salmon Creek Bridge for rolling hills with some technical patches. Gain some vertical with a trip up Dead Mountain then back on the Flat Creek Trail. A favorite trail that can offer something for all levels.
