Campers Flat Campground
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Campers Flat Campground is located approximately 23 miles south of Oakridge at an elevation of 2,000 feet. This campground has 5 sites with trailer space, grills and tables. Potable water and toilets are available.
A small flat adjacent to the Middle Fork of the Willamette River, Camper’s Flat is a pretty but small campground. The river drowns out the sound of the traffic on Road 21, which the campground is also adjacent to. There is an interpretive sign about the Oregon Central Military Wagon Road in the campground. Fishing is good with easy access to the water’s edge. One can expect to catch Rainbow or Cutthroat Trout, or large scale suckers. Young’s Rock Trailhead is across FS road 21 from the campground’s entrance and is very popular with mountain bike riders.
