Indigo Lake Hike-in Campground
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Indigo Lake Hike-in Campground is located approximately 43 miles southeast of Oakridge at an elevation of 5,900 feet. This campground has 5 tent only sites with tables and fire rings. Toilets are available but there is no potable water.
This hike-in campground is quite primitive and remote, so there is ample opportunity for solitude. Indigo Lake is a high elevation lake situated on a bench between Timpanogas Lake and the Calapooya Divide. There is a large escarpment on the south side of the lake that provides an outstanding view. Sawtooth Mountain stands stately behind the waters edge. Be prepared for a very high mosquito population in July and August.
