In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. The Tillamook County Pioneer Museum is in the process of developing two miles of interpretive trails on their 200 acre property at Kilchis Point in Bay City, Oregon. Almost 1.25 miles has already been cleared and groomed and interpretive signage has been installed along the way. This is the site of one of the largest Native American villages on the Oregon Coast, dating from at least 400 years ago. The first pioneer settlers also established homes and businesses in the area. It is also the home to many native species of flora and fauna. The trails are open dawn to dusk year round and there is no charge to visit.
