Magone Lake Campground sits on Magone Lake, north of John Day, at an elevation of 5,000 feet. The area offers a boat launch, swimming, hiking, fishing, and viewing wildflowers.

Facilities at the campground include: 20 tent/trailer campsites, three tent campsites, 17 picnic sites, one large group picnic area, one large group camping area, drinking water and wheelchair accessible toilets.
