McMenamins – East 19th Street Café
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.
Perched on the edge of the University of Oregon campus, East 19th Street Café in Eugene is right in line with the latter-day-hippie vibe at U of O. Outside our front door is one of the first original peace poles, reading "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in four different languages, including what has been described as "animal language." Animals, huh? Well, they did shoot the classic Belushi comedy Animal House at U of O didn't they? It all makes sense to us.
We offer snooker and pool tables, pinball, darts, a Round Oak wood stove, mahogany deck, original artwork by McMenamins artists Joe Cotter, Kolieha Bush and Dawn Phelps McConnell—distinguishing East 19th Street Café as a Eugene pub destination for students and the community alike.
