In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Sacandaga Campground is located approximately 26 miles southeast of Oakridge at an elevation of 2,400 feet. This campground has 17 sites with trailer space, fire rings and grill. Toilets are available but there is no potable water.
Sacandaga Campground is located along the Middle Fork of the Willamette River where a segment of the historic Oregon Central Military Wagon Road can be seen. The Willamette River is accessible by two trails from the campground. There is also a short trail leading to a viewpoint with a bench for a short break. A visitor can visit Sacandaga Campground and enjoy solitude as the use is very low and the campsites are well separated by vegetation. The Middle Fork Trail is in close proximity.
