The Siskiyou Field Institute
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. Routes listed on this website are for informational purposes and intended as a reference guide only.
The Siskiyou Field Institute is where people come to learn about and explore this amazing bioregion, a land of steep mountains, wild rivers and unusual diversity of species and habitats. SFI is the conduit for the region’s leading scientists and naturalists to share their passion and knowledge with the public each year through dynamic field courses and other educational programs.
The 870-acre center promises to be an ideal home for both The Siskiyou Field Institute and Southern Oregon University. The property provides convenient access to an incredible array of at-risk plant communities, serpentine geology, and miles of frontage along two salmon-bearing streams, Deer Creek and Squaw Creek.
The potential for K-12, university, and enrichment opportunities on or near Deer Creek Center is truly incredible.
There’s something for everyone: wildflower illustration, bird watching, rafting trips, youth camps, technical courses and more. Visit The Siskiyou Field Institute today!
