Wildhorse Resort Golf Course
In Oregon, a bicycle is legally considered a vehicle, and the same Oregon road laws apply. Please “be seen” and practice safe riding. Vehicle traffic, farm equipment and narrow shoulders exist on many Oregon roads, and you may find that construction projects, traffic or other events may cause road conditions or signage to differ from the map results, ride descriptions and directions. For travel options plus weather and road conditions, visit tripcheck.com, call 511 (in Oregon only), 800.977.6368 or 503.588.2941. It’s big country around Pendleton, and you’ll experience that sense of open spaces at Wildhorse Golf Course, part of Wildhorse Resort & Casino. This inland links-style layout is nestled against the western foothills of the Blue Mountains and is one of Oregon’s 7 Golf Gems. It plays over 7,128 yards that feature smooth, fast bent grass greens, manicured tees and lush fairways. The distance is even more apparent when the wind is up … which is often! The course rolls up and down and around several lakes, which attract abundant bird life. Looking west across the seemingly endless agricultural fields, Wildhorse bumps up against a vast sea of wheat.
If you visit Wildhorse July 18-19, you’ll have the opportunity to see how those trees affect strategy by playing in Eastern Oregon’s premier amateur event, the Wildhorse Amateur Golf Championship. The 36-hole stroke-play tournament is open to all golfers with a current USGA handicap.
