The Cascade Lakes Highway ride makes a challenging loop around volcanic mountains and beside alpine lakes. This route represents a very long day, but the scenery will help take your mind off the work. There are several lodges and resorts along the way to stop for lunch or to get beverages/snacks.
You can also make this a much shorter ride by taking the cutoff road to Sunriver Resort and completing the loop back to Bend from there.
