Fifteen Mile Creek Loop

Trailhead: From Hood River, head 31 miles south on Hwy. 35 to Forest Road 44 on the left. Drive up Road 44 for 5.4 miles to the Bottle Prairie trailhead on the left.

Highlights: Miles of technical single-track, long climbs, interesting views, creek crossings and a fun descent to end the ride.

Note: Begin and end on the lower two miles of the Lookout Mountain trail along Eight Mile Creek.  Be prepared for a very technical descent on Tr. 457 down to Fifteen Mile Creek as well as a long climb back up Trail 456.  At the low point of the ride, where you cross Fifteen Mile Creek an optional few miles of out-and-back along the creek are possible; look for the trail heading downstream.

  1. Fifteen mile is a classic “must do” ride. You’ll need to be in a climbing state of mind but you will be rewarded with some amazing downhill sections with technical elements thrown in… just to make it interesting.
