Trailhead: From Bend, head 22 miles north on Highway 97 through Redmond and on to Terrebonne, turn right on Smith Rock Road and follow it 4 miles to Lone Pine Road. Head left and proceed 3 miles to gravel Road 5710 on the left; park in the large lot.

Highlights: A fair amount of moderate climbing with one or two steep sections. Wide-open views of the surrounding mountains and high desert. A great gravel- and dirt-road tour of this beautiful area.

Seasons: All year, weather permitting (best in spring & fall)
