Trailhead: From Bend, head 22 miles north on Highway 97 through Redmond and on to Terrebonne. Turn right on Smith Rock Road and follow it 4 miles to Lone Pine Road. Head left and proceed 3 miles to gravel Road 5710 on the left, and park in the large lot.

Highlights: Lots of up and down with some great single-track. Expect wide-open views of surrounding mountains and high desert.

  1. good cell reception at the top, ha. of course. i had to push my bike the last bit, too steep on really loose scree. coming down, same drill, top was very steep, but then this was with late 80s MTB technology!!
