Historic Hiking Trail Loop
Trailhead Elevation: 1605 ft
Trailhead: Head 20 miles west of Portland on Hwy. 26 to Hwy. 6 (forks to the left). Take Hwy. 6 west approximately 17 miles toward Tillamook until the turn-off for Rogers Camp just after the summit. Stay left and park at the large staging area.
Highlights: This is a highly technical trail with multiple short steep climbs and technical descents. The lush forest is beautiful and almost always damp. (Note: A longer loop is possible by hooking up this trail with the Storey Burn and Gales Creek trails.)
Seasons: Spring, summer and fall
A detailed map of this trail and others nearby is available through Adventure Maps, an Oregon company, at local bike shops and outdoor retailers, as well as online at www.adventuremaps.net.
