Marys Peak
Trailhead Elevation: 4067 ft
This area features beautiful old-growth timber, no crowds, and quick rolling descents with some technical root sections. There are multiple routes to choose from.
For a 10-12 mile route, begin by riding up FS 2005. Ride up the FS road approximately 3.4 miles until you reach another gate and sign: “Marys Peak Watershed.” This is the beginning of the single-track. The trail ascends for approximately 6 miles. The terrain varies from smooth single-track to rocky single-track. You’ll need some technical and advanced climbing skills to get up to the peak. The descent starts opposite the parking lot (north side) and begins what is the most fun part of the ride. For 3-4 miles the trail twists and turns down through old growth and over many tricky, slick and technical root sections. Advanced riders will find this descent to be fun, but it ends much too soon. The trail ends on FS 2005, near the first gate where you parked.
Directions: Go through Corvallis and take Highway 20 to Philomath. Continue through Philomath and head toward Newport/Toledo (still on Highway 20). After crossing Marys Creek, continue 3/4 mile and turn left on Forest Service Road 2005. Drive approximately 8 miles on FS 2005 until you dead-end at a gate. Park here.
Seasons: Late spring though fall

Good single track. East ridge is a quick but fun ride, a few roots and a little rocky after a rain but mostly smooth. 10-15 minute ride down. Shuttle-able. North ridge is a little harder to shuttle and definitely a longer ride, 30-45 minutes. A lot more roots, and a little more technical.
